In FACT, Inc. was incorporated in 2011 in Willingboro, New Jersey with a mission to preserve and perpetuate folklife traditions and to use these traditions to sustain communities and affect social change. The Board is led by Women and the organization is primarily focused on serving communities of the African/African American diaspora. We welcome volunteers and always seek to uplift community voice through folk art, culture and tradition.
Community centered, our programs include workshops in such traditions as quilting, African Drumming and Dance, dollmaking, hip hop, the blues, storytelling, line dancing, hair wrapping, soap making, Latin dance and traditional healing arts. We curate Black Doll exhibitions, produce festivals including the Annual Willingboro Kwanzaa Festival with partnering community organizations.x Our newly initiated Youth Storytelling Group will be performing at the Willingboro Kwanzaa Festival this year. As a cultural sustainability organization we also take oral histories and document culture.
