In FACT, Inc. was incorporated in 2011 in Willingboro, New Jersey with a mission to preserve and perpetuate folklife traditions and to use these traditions to sustain communities and affect social change. The Board is led by Women and the organization is primarily focused on serving communities of the African/African American diaspora. We welcome volunteers and always seek to uplift community voice through folk art, culture and tradition.
Community centered, our programs include workshops in such traditions as quilting, African Drumming and Dance, dollmaking, hip hop, the blues, storytelling, line dancing, hair wrapping, soap making, Latin dance and traditional remedies. We curate Black Doll exhibitions, produce festivals including the Annual Willingboro Kwanzaa Festival with partnering community organizations and "The Ubuntu mini Festival Series. Visit our pages to learn more.
In FACT partners with Queen Nur LLC to document the R&B/Soul Line Dance Community in the Philadelphia, New Jersey Delaware Tri- State Area as part of the Widening the Path Project for the Library of Congress. Follow the stories on FACEBOOK and look out for our documentary film showing in FALL of 2024. Made Possible by the LIbrary of Congress and New Jersey Council for the Humanities.
